The protection of the entire population arises from prevention and already established organization. Should the fumarole turn into a hazard flowing downhill in the shape of lahars, everyone in Pucón would cooperate to provide shelter in the areas considered safe. Visitors are advised to pay attention to the volcanic green, yellow and red light located in front of the Town Hall and the escape strategies displayed by signs on each corner.
It is important to remember that the protagonist of the ski resort and several summer tours undoubtedly is the volcano. People in charge of accommodation venues, services and tourist operators know well how to act in case there is an earthquake or an eruption. It should be accepted that these are actions of nature typical in this area and that we should all act fast enough in the event of an alert.
Let ourselves be surprised by the signs on the streets but also be aware of the fact that this is a way to protect the entire population and face the situation knowing exactly what to do and without panicking.
