In 2017, Frutillar became the first Chilean city to join the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in the Music category, recognising decades of joint work between the municipality and the town's cultural institutions.

Teatro del Lago

Built on Lake Llanquihue, with Osorno volcano behind, the Teatro del Lago is the heart of Frutillar's musical life. Recognised in 2014 as part of Chile's cultural heritage, it welcomes hundreds of thousands of visitors each year.

Semanas Musicales

Every summer, from late January to the first week of February, the Frutillar Musical Weeks offer two weeks of back-to-back concerts.

Tips

  • Check the Teatro del Lago programme before you travel: there are performances all year.
  • Book accommodation early during the Musical Weeks.
