About 80 km from Osorno, over 100,000 hectares of temperate forest in three sectors: Aguas Calientes, Antillanca and Anticura.

Created in 1941, Puyehue National Park lies about 80 km east of Osorno on Route 215, between the Los Lagos and Los Ríos regions. It covers some 107,000 hectares and is part of the Temperate Rainforests of the Southern Andes Biosphere Reserve.
Three sectors
- Aguas Calientes: hot springs and forest trails; the hike towards Puyehue volcano starts here.
- Antillanca: the road climbs the slopes of Casablanca volcano, with lookouts and a mountain centre.
- Anticura: waterfalls and short trails, near the road to the Cardenal Samoré border crossing.
The volcanoes
The park includes the Puyehue, Casablanca and Antillanca volcanoes. Long hikes include Aguas Calientes to Puyehue volcano and Casablanca volcano to Lake Rupanco.
Tips
- Check with CONAF on trail conditions and whether long hikes require registration.
- In winter the road to Antillanca may require chains.
