Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay with a Pacific breeze: the white wine valley, on the way to the coast.

On the road between Santiago and Valparaíso, the Casablanca Valley is one of the most visited wine valleys in central Chile. Being close to the ocean keeps it cool: Pacific breezes and the influence of the Humboldt current moderate temperatures and allow the grapes to ripen slowly.
The white wine valley
Casablanca is famous for its whites, especially Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay, which cover most of its vineyards. It pioneered cool-climate wines in Chile: the first commercial vineyards were planted in the early 1980s.
How to visit
Many wineries welcome visitors with vineyard and cellar tours, tastings and restaurants. Given its location, it is easy to combine with a trip to Valparaíso or Viña del Mar.
Tips
- Most wineries require advance booking.
- If you are tasting, arrange transport or take a tour with transfers.
