Two beaches split by a wooded peninsula, calm waters and sunsets over Lake Calafquén.

Licán Ray lies on the northern shore of Lake Calafquén, in La Araucanía. Its main draw is a pair of dark volcanic sand beaches, split by a forested peninsula that works as a natural lookout over the lake's islands and islets.
Playa Grande
It runs from the base of the peninsula to the Malpún river. It is the largest beach and the starting point for many activities: kayaking, stand-up paddle, swimming and boat rides. At the end of the day, it is the place for the sunset.
Playa Chica
Quieter and more sheltered, with clear water and trees that give natural shade. Ideal for a day with kids.
The peninsula
It can only be explored on foot, along forest trails with panoramic views of the lake. There is an entrance fee.
More to do
