Quellón

 ocated in the southern area of the Chiloé Island, to the South of Lakes Huillinco, Cucao and the Compu swamp, the district of Quellón has been named after the distillery called Compañía Destilatorio Quellón, located in the area since 1906. Pioneer in the making of acetone, methyl alcohol and coal, the building of its harbor and the industrial plant gave origin to the community, which has the stamp of the huilliche culture.
Located 196 kilometers from Castro, Quellón has the singular characteristic of giving origin to the Panamericana Road, which joins the three Americas, after crossing 11 countries which spread along a total distance of 20,000 kilometers.
When visiting this settlement, do not hesitate to travel the waterfront and stroll about the stands at the fluvial fair, to see its ancient churches or to go on a launch voyage through the surrounding islands .
Punta Lapa, Yaldad and the Chaiguao shore can be accessed from Quellón.
It is important to point out that Quellón is the point where the ferries leave for Chaitén and Aisén and that its harbor receives all the seafood produced in this strip.
From the Cailín Island, the Corcovado Volcano may be observed. This piece of land is known as the confines of the world´s christendom, as in 1743, the Jesuits turned it into a reduction, filling it with the churches of the order.
