Valle Nevado

Very close to the City of Santiago, the largest winter resort in the southern hemisphere, and probably the most modern in Chile, may be discovered.
Valle Nevado lies above 3 thousand meters of height and offers 37 kilometers of trails specially prepared to practice all kinds of winter activities.

Inaugurated in 1988, along with El Colorado and La Parva, it gives origin to the area known as "De los Tres Valles de los Andes" (of the three valleys of the Andes), with over 10 thousand hectares of skiable land and over 100 kilometers of trails.

Powder snow, slopes ending at splendid Andean valleys add up to the already traditional off-piste areas with excellent unspoiled snow.
Ideal to enjoy skiing, snowboarding, heli-skiing and off-piste, Valle Nevado is the best place to meet.

The snowboarding park at Valle Nevado offers two trails: half pipe and border cross, next to La Escondida surface lift.
The Snowboarding FIS World Cup is held at Valle Nevado. This is the only ski resort in South America hosting this competition.
No wonder it is referred to as El Dorado of winter sports. First-class accommodation and cuisine is offered, and shows are organized during the entire season.

How to Get There:
It lies just 46 km away from Santiago. Follow the paved road to Farallones (32 km) and then take the detour to Valle Nevado. In the winter, traffic is allowed only uphill from 8am to 2pm and downhill from 2pm to 8pm. Snow chains are mandatory.

Season:
It starts in mid June and lasts till mid October. The high season goes from early to late July.

Ski, snowboarding, heli-skiing, hang-gliding, heli-surfing, hiking.
