Borde Río Ecological Park

In a space surrounded by nature, this place invites families and friends to enjoy a perfect day: activities for all ages, along with tranquility and safety in every corner.

An undertaking that gives priority to the surrounding scenery and healthy life has emerged on the banks of one of the most highly appreciated rivers in the area, lying close to the City of Valdivia, namely: the Santo Domingo. Borde Río Ecological Park is a project that safeguards the environment and, at the same time, offers the chance for everyone to find the best way to be entertained.

We left the city behind, and after just fifteen minutes, we were accessing the park, willing to let ourselves be surprised by its inner trails. A guide welcomed us, and we gladly accepted the invitation to explore the paths before settling in anywhere. The surroundings were excellent, and the conversation was very informative, giving us a clear idea of the different areas and helping us plan our activities.

The reserve spans six hectares and offers countless attractions for both children and adults, such as swimming pools, kayaking and boating, riverside fishing, and games, such as hopscotch, ping-pong, and a trampoline. It also provides camping areas, fully equipped cabins, and event halls, expanding its possibilities for use.

We settled in the picnic area, in front of one of the grills, to enjoy a family barbecue while the little ones ran around nearby with complete freedom; tables, chairs, and canopies provided us with all the necessary comfort.

Throughout the afternoon, we took walks along the internal trails through a native forest with dense and varied vegetation, with some lookout points offering a broader view of the entire property. To take a break, we visited the café, where they offered breads, jams, and other natural products that reminded us of the times when such delights were homemade. 

Learning to Understand

Those in charge of the park are developing themed environmental tours, both for visitors passing through and for schoolchildren. When summer comes to an end, spending time outdoors becomes more difficult, so groups can request rooms and barbecue areas equipped for their meetings, whether for work, celebrations,simply leisure. From its terraces, there is a beautiful panoramic view of the river that invites tranquility and reflection. 

At Borde Río Park, everything has been designed to make ecology a beneficial habit. It was a pleasure for us to visit and know that on our next trip to Valdivia, we will have this pleasant space for a day of relaxation.
